VISIT OUR TURTLE PROJECT IN PUNTA CHAME
Baby Turtle Liberation
Between August and January you can join one of the turtle liberations organized by the local conservation project Tortuguias and witness this magical moment when the baby turtles make their first steps into the ocean. Check their liberation dates and sign up online on their Instagram @tortuguias

Surfing around Punta Chame
Punta Chame is not only a perfect place for kitesurfing - but also for SURFING! When the tide is right, there are many days with amazing side breaking waves which are good for beginners, intermediates and also advanced surfers will have a lot of fun here.
Playa Caracol is usually our choice to go surfing, which is only a 15 minute drive from Punta Chame. You can rent boards right at the beach at the Surfshak or we can go surfing with you - we cover board rental and transport from Punta Chame for 30$ per person.
SPEND A DAY IN THE "CARIBBEAN"
Otoque Island
About 35 minutes by boat, Otoque Island feels like a little Caribbean escape — colorful houses, friendly locals, and crystal-clear lagoons for swimming and snorkeling. Spot dolphins, birds, and explore the calm beaches. A relaxed island vibe just a short ride from Punta Chame.
The costs will be between 50$-60$ per person, depending on your group size and availability of the boat.
VISIT THE RUINS OF JOHN WAYNE ISLAND
Taborcillo Island
Only 3 km off the beach from Punta Chame lays the small and private island, which was once owned by the famous film actor John Wayne - Taborcillo Island. In his honor, John Wayne City – a western-like resort and theme park were built which used to be a holiday destination for European and American tourists.

Whale Watching
From July to October, humpback whales migrate to the warm waters near Punta Chame to give birth. Join a boat trip around the nearby islands — Otoque, Estiva, and Boná — and witness these giants of the sea up close. You’ll often spot dolphins, sea turtles, and seabirds too.
